Terms and conditions

This research with customers of Wessex Water Services Limited (“WW”) is being carried out by an independent market research agency, Blue Marble Research Limited (company no. 05639871) (“Blue Marble”), on behalf of WW to understand views on their company plan up to 2050. Blue Marble will conduct the research under the Market Research Society code of conduct (https://www.mrs.org.uk/standards/code-of-conduct).

1. Terms of Entry to the prize draw

Entry to the prize draw is free. To be entered into the prize draw you will need to complete the survey with all the questions outlined.

Start date for entries is 21 February 2023 at 01:00. Closing date for entries is 28 April 2023 at 23:00 ("Prize Draw Period"). Entries will not be accepted after this time.

It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that they have read and abided by these terms and conditions. By submitting an entry, each entrant agrees to comply with these terms and conditions. Any entry found not to comply with these terms and conditions will be disqualified. In such instances, any prizes will be forfeited. 

The decision by WW on all matters relating to the competition is final and binding. No discussion or correspondence will be entered into.

WW reserves the right to suspend or modify the competition in whole or in part at any time without notice and without liability. WW’s decision in all matters is final and binding and correspondence will not be entered into. 

2. Who can enter?

The prize draw is only open to residents of the Wessex Water region who are customers of WW, or stakeholders whose work means that they have an interest in WW’s activities. 

WW reserve the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant and to refuse entry at its discretion. 

Entrants must be 18 years or older when entering the competition online.

Entrants can only enter the prize draw once and only one entrant can enter the prize draw per household.

3. How to enter?

To enter the prize draw, entrants must visit a website where they can submit responses to the survey for market research. They may access this website through a number of channels; at one of 10 face to face events taking place across the Wessex Water region in February and March 2023; through visiting the WW website and clicking on the relevant link; or after receiving an email containing the relevant link inviting them to complete the survey.

Entrants will need to provide the following to enter the prize draw: 

  • Name
  • Email address

Entrants will need to answer all questions in the survey to be entered into the prize draw. Answers to questions in the survey will be sent to WW on an anonymised basis.

Entries received after the Prize Draw Period will not be included in the prize draw.

4. Winner selection

Three winners will be selected at random from all valid entries received in the Prize Draw Period.

The winners will be notified by Blue Marble Research within 2 weeks of the closing date. 

The winners will be asked to provide their bank details so that the prize can be sent to their nominated bank account.

5. The Prizes

Each prize shall be the sum of £250 ("Prize"), sent via BACS transfer.

The prizes will be sent to the winners' bank accounts, within 3 weeks of notification of bank details to Blue Marble Research.

The prize will be subject to availability and is non-transferable. No cash or alternative to the prize will be offered.

If the competition winners do not respond to Blue Marble Research within ten (10) days of notification that they have won, WW reserves the right to withdraw them as the winner and instruct Blue Marble to choose an alternative winner which would have been selected at the same time at random. The original winner shall not be entitled to any alternative payment or compensation whatsoever in lieu of the Prize. 

6. Liability

WW shall not be held responsible for any restrictions or issues with entering the competition.

Each entrant should take their own adequate measures to protect against viruses, security or any exploitation.

WW regret that they cannot accept liability for any:

  • third parties to fulfil the obligations involved in this prize draw
  • failure of entrants to comply with the prize draw rules
  • nothing in this clause is intended to exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or for any matter for which it is not permitted by law to exclude or limit, or to attempt to exclude or limit its liability.

WW shall not be responsible for any entries not received by it for any reason, by the end of the Prize Draw Period. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes any entries that are lost, delayed due to technical difficulties or malfunctions.

7. Data protection

Blue Marble carries out this market research on behalf of WW, Blue Marble is the controller of your personal data in this respect and is responsible for its compliance with data protection laws (the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 as it forms part of the law of England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland by virtue of section 3 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018). Blue Marble will hold, retain and process your personal data as stated in its privacy policy which also explains your rights.

9. Governing Law

By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions to the exclusion of all others.

Each clause in these terms and conditions operates separately. If any part of found by a court to be unreasonable or unenforceable the other parts will continue to apply.

These terms and conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
